KUWAIT ORDERS DEPOT-LEVEL REPAIR CAPABILITY SERVICE FOR F/A-18'S APG-79 AESA RADAR
PATUXENT RIVER, Md. -- The U.S. Navy, on behalf of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customer Kuwait, awarded Raytheon Co. of El Segundo, California, a Raytheon Technologies company, a $15.3 million cost-plus-fixed-fee order (N00019-22-F-2543) under a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-20-G-0007) to provide depot-level repair capability for the APG-79 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AES) radar's weapon replaceable assemblies (WRAs). The APG-79 radar flies on board the F/A-18 navalized fighter jet.
The contracted work will be performed in El Segundo, California (65%) and Forest, Mississippi (35%), and is expected to be completed in February 2023.
Kuwait is obligating the full $15.3 million in FMS funds at the time of the award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
