BOEING RECEIVES $10.1M FOR TEST EQUIPMENT SUPPORTING U.S. NAVY F/A-18S' IRST SENSOR
PATUXENT RIVER, Md. -- The U.S. Navy awarded The Boeing Co. of St. Louis, Missouri, a $10.1 million modification (P00010) to a previous firm-price-incentive-fee order (N00019-19-F-2410) issued under a previous basic ordering agreement (N00019-16-G-0001) to add scope to procure special tooling and special test equipment in support of the F/A-18's Infrared Search and Track (IRST) sensor. The added scope includes procurement of one Infrared Receiver (IR) Sensor Char, one IR Receiver Advanced Test Platform (ATP), one IR Receiver Ambient, one Processor Ambient/ATP, and one IR Receiver Full Mechanical.
The contracted work will be performed in Orlando, Florida (82%) and St. Louis, Missouri (18%), and is expected to be completed in December 2024.
The Navy is obligating the full $10.1 million in Fiscal Year 2022 Aircraft Procurement funds at the time of the award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
