GA-ASI AWARDED CONTRACT FOR PROCUREMENT OF 3 SKYTOWER I TTNT PODS FOR U.S. NAVY MQ-9A REAPERS
PATUXENT RIVER, Md. -- The U.S. Navy awarded General Atomics - Aeronautical Systems Inc. of Poway, California, a $7.8 million modification (P00009) to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (N00019-20-C-0031) for three SkyTower I Tactical Targeting Network Technology pods. Under the modification, GA-ASI will also provide three air vehicle installation kits, three ground control system installation kits, one lot of product support material/ancillary items, and two unmanned aircraft system modifications for the MQ-9A Reaper UAV.
The contracted work will be performed in Poway, California (43.5%), Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii (35.5%), and Grey Butte, California (21%), and is expected to be completed in December 2023.
The Navy is obligating $6.0 million in Fiscal Year 20220 Aircraft Procurement and $1.8 million in FY22 Aircraft Procurement funds at the time of the award. Of that amount $6.0 million will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
