SWITZERLAND'S MOUNTAIN FLYER ORDERS AW169 FOR VIP SERVICE

GENEVA -- Mountain Flyers of Switzerland has ordered a Leonardo AW169 light intermediate twin engine helicopter, marking the entry of the type into the Swiss VIP market. Leonardo announced the order during an official ceremony held at EBACE 2018 in Geneva. This specially-configured aircraft will feature an exclusive seven-seat VIP layout. It will be used for heli-taxi services from Bern Airport. The new AW169 will allow Mountain Flyers to serve several routes across Switzerland and Europe it could not serve with the company's GrandNew helicopter, which it previously used to establish Bern Airport’s first twin-engine helicopter VIP transport service. Since the program began, over 70 customers in nearly 30 countries around the world have ordered more than 180 AW169 helicopters. More than 50 units have been already delivered globally. These are used for a wide range of applications, including executive/corporate transport, air ambulance, law enforcement, offshore transport, electronic newsgathering.
