U.S. ARMY & QATAR ORDER MODERNIZED-RADAR FREQUENCY INTERFEROMETER FROM LOCKHEED MARTIN
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- The U.S. Army, on behalf of itself and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customer Qatar, awarded Lockheed Martin Corp. of Owego, New York, a $19.0 million fixed-price-incentive contract (W58RGZ-20-F-0414) for Modernized-Radar Frequency Interferometers (M-RFIs). The Army solicited bids via the internet and received one.
The M-RFI is an electronic warfare system that flies on board AH-64 Apache helicopters. On board the Apache, the M-RFI provides sensor data that allows the helicopter to detect radar emitting sources from distance, and then engage with the prospective target.
Lockheed Martin will perform the contracted work in Owego, New York, and are expected to complete the work on or before February 28, 2023.
Collectively the U.S. Army and Qatar are obligating the full $19.0 million contract amount at the time of the award. The Army is obligating Fiscal Year 2018 Aircraft Procurement while Qatar is obligating 2020 FMS funds.
For the purposes of this award, the U.S. Army Contracting Command, located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is performing the role of contracting activity.
