NORTH KOREAN PERFORMS 2 MORE MISSILE LAUNCHES

SEOUL -- North Korea has conducted two additional ballistic missile launches. This is the sixth such action by North Korea in the last three weeks. Pyongyang is believed to be using the launches to pressure Washington and Seoul over the slow progress in ongoing nuclear diplomacy.

President Trump is downplaying these launches. Pyongyang is also seen as dialing up the pressure on South Korea to get Seoul to convince Washington to agree to major concessions. Talks between North Korea, the United States and South Korea could restart later in 2019.
