TOULOUSE, France -- Airbus recorded orders for 117 aircraft in the month of August. Wizz Air ordered 75 A321neos. Avolon ordered 20 A330-900s. Air Algerie ordered five A330-900s and two A350-1000s. Undisclosed customers ordered 12 A321neos and three A330-900s.
Airbus delivered a total of 52 aircraft during August. This total included seven A220-300s, one A319neo, 17 A320neos, 24 A321neos, one A330-900, one A350-900, and one A350-1000.
In the first eight months of 2023, Airbus garnered 1,257 orders. Net orders for the period totaled 1,218, due to 39 cancellations. Airbus delivered 433 aircraft in the first eight months of 2023.
As of August 31, 2023, Airbus had unfilled orders for 8,024 aircraft. The unfilled orders broken down by aircraft type were as follows: 523 for the A220, two for the A319ceo, 46 for the A319neo, 11 for the A320ceo, 2,452 for the A320neo, seven for the A321ceo, 4,267 for the A321neo, 232 for the A330, and 484 for the A350.
The order backlog at the end of August 2023 represents an increase compared to the backlog at the end of July 2023, which had totaled 7,959. Both figures are increases compared to the company's yearend-2022 order backlog of 7,239.
