COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- On January 19th and on January 23rd, 2023, the U.S. Air Force, on behalf of the Space Force, awarded L3Harris Technologies Inc. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, contracts for Maintenance of Space Situational Awareness Integrated Capabilities (MOSSAIC) sustainment services. Both contracts were modifications (P00155 and P00158, respectively) to a previously awarded contract (FA8823-20-C-0004).
The contract awarded January 19 has a value of $39.1 million and covers MOSSAIC work performed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Dahlgren, Virginia. It has an end date of January 31, 2024. At the time of the award $29.3 million in Fiscal Year 2023 Operations and Maintenance funds were obligated. With the award, the total face cumulative value of the contract raised to $582.5 million.
The contract awarded January 23 has a value of $46.4 million and covers MOSSAIC work performed in Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; also, with an end date of January 31, 2024. At the time of the award $17.6 million in Fiscal Year 2023 Operations and Maintenance funds were obligated. With the award, the total face cumulative value of the contract raised to $645.7 million.
For the purposes of both contracts, The U.S. Space Systems Center Directorate of Contracting at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado, is performing the role of contracting activity.
