SANDY HOOK CT - In July 2008, Germany's National Armaments Directorate (BWB) awarded MOWAG a contract worth $4.4 million for 25 Eagle IV vehicles. This award represented the first increment of a contract worth $141 million for 198 Eagle IV vehicles (155 basic command versions and 43 patrol variants), with an option for 474 additional vehicles to meet the Bundeswehr's GFF 2 requirement.

In November 2008, the BWB awarded MOWAG a contract worth $136.6 million for the remaining 173 vehicles of the initial 198-vehicle GFF 2 requirement.

In June 2013, the BWB ordered 100 Eagle V command vehicles for the Bundeswehr's GFF 2 requirement. The contract included an option for an additional 76 vehicles.

In April 2020, the BWB ordered 80 Eagle V ambulances. First deliveries were to occur in 2021, with the remainder arriving through 2024.

The German GFF Group 2 program could ultimately lead to the procurement of 1,000-2,000 vehicles.

In November 2019, the Swiss Army ordered 100 Eagle V TASYS tactical reconnaissance system vehicles. Production of these vehicles was expected to start in 2020. Fielding will occur between 2023 and 2025.

In June 2017, Denmark ordered 36 additional Eagle 4x4 vehicles for the Danish Army's Armored Patrol Vehicle requirement. Under the contract, deliveries commenced in 2018.

At least three other customers are evaluating the Eagle. Further export orders are likely.

The Forecast International Weapons Group expects continuing German Bundeswehr procurement, as well as additional Swiss Army orders plus other export sales. Although the Eagle may not be destined to become a major factor on the international market, we expect that MOWAG will maintain an active production line and a respectable level of sales.
