NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Dynamit Nobel Defence GmbH maintains expectations for new export sales and Bundeswehr follow-on procurement of the Panzerfaust 3. However, with the completion of the Dutch and Italian orders in 2013, there are currently insufficient orders to maintain the serial production line.
In December 2012, open-source reporting indicated that the Peruvian Army planned to buy a variety of new anti-tank weapons, including the Panzerfaust 3. The Peruvian Army reportedly appropriated $64.4 million for the purchase of individual anti-tank weapons.
Finally, in January 2015, the Peruvian Army formally accepted a batch of Panzerfaust 3T weapons from Dynamit Nobel.
On November 5, 2014, the German Bundeswehr announced that it had successfully delivered the entirety of its materiel support package to the Peshmerga forces of Iraqi Kurdistan. This support package included 200 Panzerfaust 3 launchers with 2,500 rockets.
While the Forecast International Weapons Group expects the Panzerfaust 3 will maintain at least some level of production in the short term, the dominance of other players will continue to hinder sales. Despite the proven effectiveness of the Panzerfaust 3, Dynamit Nobel will remain a minor player in this market segment.
Nevertheless, the demonstrated effectiveness of the Panzerfaust 3 against Russian armored fighting vehicles in Ukraine may provide a well-deserved boost to the weapon's sales potential and market status.
