BEIJING -- China recently completed a successful flight test of a supersonic cruise missile powered by an advanced solid-fuel ramjet. The system uses the HD-1 designation.

China is looking to sell this missile to international customers, especially in Asia. This missile reportedly needs less fuel than its foreign competitors, which means it is lighter and able to fly faster and farther. The missile can arm aircraft and warships, as well as mobile land-based platforms.
