NEWTOWN, Conn. - In celebration of the 85th anniversary of the creation of Fábrica Argentina de Aviones (FAdeA), the first CZ-11assembled in country took its maiden flight.

Through a joint production agreement signed with China's national aircraft manufacturer CATIC, Argentina will license build CZ-11 helicopters beginning in 2013.

China initially offered the Changhe CZ-11 light utility helicopter to the Argentine Army back in 2006, but Argentina was not interested at the time. The offer was then reconsidered in 2008, but again failed to spark attention. By October 2011, the Amy was once again showing an interest - this time, however, with joint production rights.
