U.S. ARMY ORDERS ADDITIONAL LTAMDS (GHOSTEYE) RADAR PROTOTYPES
REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- The U.S. Army awarded Raytheon Co. of Andover, Massachusetts, a Raytheon Technologies company, a $353.9 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (W9124P-19-9-0001) to procure additional Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS; also known as GhostEye) radar prototypes. The U.S. Department of Defense said that bids were solicited via the internet and two were received.
The contracted work will be performed in: Huntsville and Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Tucson, Arizona; Anaheim Hills, El Segundo and San Diego, California; Fort Walton Beach and St. Petersburg, Florida; Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, Indiana; Aberdeen Proving Ground and Fulton, Maryland; Andover, Burlington, Cambridge, Marlborough, Tewksbury, Waltham and Woburn, Massachusetts; Saginaw, Michigan; Nashua and Pelham, New Hampshire; White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; Lawton, Oklahoma; Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Portsmouth, Rhode Island; El Paso and San Antonio, Texas; and Arlington and Sterling, Virginia. The contract's estimated completion date is May 1, 2025.
The Army is obligating $104.8 million in Fiscal Year 2021 Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation funds at the time of the award. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
