WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- The U.S. Air Force awarded Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. of Linthicum Heights, Maryland, a $28.7 million cost-plus-fixed-fee modification (P00077) to a previously awarded contract (FA8615-17-C-6047) in support of the APG-83 SABR Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars that are equipping F-16 fighters. Under the modification Northrop Grumman will continue radar development. The modification raises the total cumulative face value of the contract to $1.510 billion.
The contracted work will be performed in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, and is expected to be completed on April 28, 2025.
The Air Force is obligating $8.6 million in Fiscal Year 2022 Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation funds at the time of the award, bringing the total obligated amount to $1.445 billion. The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
