NEWTOWN, Conn. -- While export demand for the PVS-14 will remain strong over the next several years, production of the system for the U.S. Army will continue to wind down over the next few years as newer systems like the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG) take over. As U.S. production levels off, new opportunities will arise on the export market, albeit in relatively limited numbers.

In October 2019, the U.S. State Department approved a Foreign Military Sale to Kuwait of 19 M88A2 HERCULES recovery vehicles and related equipment and support for an estimated cost of $281 million. Among many other systems, the sale includes a quantity of PVS-7D goggles.

Although there has been no official word in relation to this program, the COVID-19 pandemic may cause some slowdown in component production and installation in the first half of 2021.

A report on the PVS-7/14 program is available from Forecast international.
