CANBERRA -- Naval Group and MacTaggart Scott Australia (MTSA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly offer torpedo countermeasures to the Royal Australian Navy. The companies signed this document at the Pacific Maritime Exposition 2019.
Naval Group Pacific is proposing to sell anti-torpedo countermeasures to Australia for use within its submarines and surface ships programs: SEA 1000 Australian Future Submarine; SEA 5000 Hunter-Class Frigates; SEA 4000 (the upgrade of Hobart-class Air Warfare Destroyer). The company builds the CANTO countermeasures system.
The CANTO anti-torpedo system is already in service in the French Navy and in several blue-water navies.
