RENTON, Wash. -- Boeing Commercial Airplanes recorded orders for 99 aircraft in the month of August. Air Lease Corp ordered 30 737 MAXs and three 787-9s. Aviation Capital Group ordered 20 737 MAXs. Boeing Capital Corp ordered five 787-9s and one 777F. An unidentified customer ordered 40 737 MAXs.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes delivered a total of 64 aircraft during August. This total includes 23 737 MAXs, 20 737-800s, two 737-800As, three 737-900ERs, two 767-300Fs, four 777-300ERs, two 777Fs, one 787-8, and seven 787-9s.

In the first eight months of 2018, Boeing garnered 658 orders. The company delivered 481 aircraft.

As of August 31, 2018, the order backlog for Boeing Commercial Airplanes totaled 5,964. Unfilled orders broken down by aircraft type were as follows: 4,746 for the 737, 22 for the 747, 106 for the 767, 424 for the 777, and 666 for the 787.

The backlog at the end of August 2018 represents an increase compared to the backlog at the end of the previous month (July), which had totaled 5,934. Both figures are increases compared to the company's yearend-2017 order backlog of 5,864.
