MOSCOW -- Russia has reportedly developed an anti-ship version of its Iskander theater ballistic missile system. The Russian military conducted two simulated "electronic launches" of the Iskander-M (SS-26 Stone) in late July and early August. The missile targeted ships in the Black Sea.

The Iskander has a range of 500 kilometers. Russia has developed a "cruise missile" version of Iskander known as the R-500 Kalibr. This missile can attack naval vessels.
