NEW SOUTH KOREAN UNIT WILL OPERATE GLOBAL HAWK UAVS

SEOUL - The South Korean Air Force is establishing a intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) unit that will operate the Global Hawk unmanned air vehicle (UAV). Seoul is in the process of purchasing two RQ-4 Global Hawk UAVs. Deliveries of these UAVs will take place in 2018. South Korea ordered the Global Hawks in 2014. Two additional UAVs will arrive in 2019.

A new airborne ISR unit will be launched on December 1.
