IRAQ USING COMMERCIAL UAVS TO ATTACK ISIS
Tuesday, April 25, 2017

WASHINGTON - Iraqi security forces are using small commercial drones to drop grenades and other small munitions on Islamic State militants in Mosul. The Islamic State's inventory of unmanned air vehicles has been largely neutralized by countermeasures from the U.S. and coalition forces.

At the peak in February, the Islamic State deployed 10 to 15 drones a day against Iraqi security forces fighting to recapture Mosul. The number of militant drones is now down to about one or two a day.
