EL CARMEN de BOLIVAR, Colombia - The Colombian Marine Corps Mobil Battalion BAMIM No. 1 deployed their new Navistar Defense 7000 MV tactical trucks this weekend.
The vehicles were deployed to Colombia's Zone of Consolidation to assist in a rally organized by the Navy, the social rally of Montes de MarĂa. The 7000 MV trucks were accompanied by the Marine's up-armored AM General M1151A1 Humvees and M1097A2 vehicles.
In November 2012, the Corps received 25 up-armored AM General M1151A1 Humvees and 20 five-ton Navistar 7000-MV GTT trucks. The vehicles were delivered as part of $5 million assistance package from the U.S. Another 28 Navistar 7000-MV tactical trucks were delivered in April 2013. The Corps expects to place additional orders of the Navistar vehicles in an effort to standardize its fleet.
