MUNICH - Siemens has won a contract to provide two H-class gas turbines to Fuji Electric, the machine's first order from Japan. The two turbines are to be installed in a power plant at Kobe Steel in Moka City.
Siemens expects approval of the environmental impact assessment for the plant sometime in mid-2016, with commercial operation to begin by year-end 2019. This order raised the number of H-class machines sold to 41 worldwide, with 13 in operation. The H-class turbine is the industry's most powerful, with a 400MW rating when operated in simple cycle and 600MW in combined cycle.
