U.S. PLANS TO TEST ATACMS ON OKINAWA

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army is preparing to conduct its first missile test of its ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile Systems) from a location on Okinawa. This test will come amid increasing Chinese aggression in the South China Sea.

The U.S. the Army will fire the ATACMS from its High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). This test, along with other drills, is seen as a deterrent against China's armed forces.
