KYIV - Pieces of a North Korean-made ballistic missiles were discovered in Ukraine. Pyongyang reportedly sold Hwasong 11 ballistic missile to Russia. The wreckage was found in Kharkiv after a Russian attack on the city in early January.

The sale of missiles to Russia by North Korea is in violation of a U.N. arms embargo. Moscow denied reports that it is purchasing arms from Pyongyang. The U.S. said February 2024 Russia had used North Korean ballistic missiles against Ukraine on at least nine occasions.

During 2023, North Korea test fired over 30 ballistic missiles, including five intercontinental ballistic missiles.
