WASHINGTON - Poland has requested Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSMs) through the U.S. government-to-government foreign military sales (FMS) channel. A notice was given to Congress by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on September 17 that the U.S. State Department had granted the Polish request.
Poland is seeking a possible sale of up to 40 AGM-158A JASSMs, 2 AGM-158A JASSSM test systems and two flight certification test vehicles. Together with an Operational Flight plan upgrade for the Polish F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft and associated missile containers, spare parts, test and support equipment, training and training equipment, JASSM integration and other services and support the value of the deal has been estimated at $500 million.
The principal contractor will be Lockheed Martin.
Poland currently uses AGM-65J/G Maverick air-to-surface missiles.
