CHINA DELIVERS FIRST BATCH OF EQUIPMENT TO VENEZUELAN MARINE CORPS

CARACAS, Venezuela - China North Industries Corp (NORINCO) has delivered the first batch of equipment purchased for the Venezuelan Marine Corps.

The delivery included 8x8 VN1 and VN18 wheeled amphibious armored vehicles, tractors, 30T tanks, and 30mm ammunition.

The equipment is part of a $500 million packaged offered by China in 2012.

The remaining equipment in the order includes VN16 amphibious tanks, SR.5 122/220 mm multiple rocket launchers, CS/M4 81 mm self-propelled mortars (to be installed on 4x4 CS/VA1 tactical vehicles), and 120 mm self-propelled mortars (to be installed on armored personnel carriers), communications systems, ammunition, and logistics material.
