TALLINN - Estonia is upgrading its military capability and anti-armor missile could be among the new purchases. Estonia is in talks with the U.S. to buy up to 80 Javelin man-portable anti-armor missile systems. This deal could be worth tens of millions of euros.

Estonia performed test launches of Javelin missiles on July 29 at its central training ground. All three missiles fired during these tests hit their targets.

Estonia's Defense Minister Sven Mikser said developing Estonia's anti-tank capabilities is a significant step for the armed forces.

Estonia plans to reach a procurement deal in 2014.

Raytheon and Lockheed Martin manufacture the Javelin missile system. The Javelin has been sold to a number of countries since the middle of the 1990s.
