TEHRAN - Iran has revealed its newest missile system. The Ya Ali is a cruise missile that can reportedly be launched from ground-based sites or combat aircraft. This missile has a range of 700 kilometers. This missile provides twice the range of Iran's existing cruise missile.
Iran routinely unveils new domestically built weapon systems. These events are seen as a warning to the United States and Israel against attacking Iran's nuclear weapons research and production sites. Iran also claims its missile development program is in response to the threat from Israel.
Tehran claims it is the world's sixth greatest missile power.
