United Aircraft Corporation (UAC or OAK) is Russia's attempt at creating a huge, vertically integrated aerospace corporation. Under its aegis are such storied firms as Sukhoi, Ilyushin,
RAC MiG and Tupolev. The firm has struggled to combine the disparate entities of Russia's aerospace industry into a cohesive whole. While the firm still has a way to go, it has made
substantial progress. The company is active in both military and civil aircraft production.
