Education: BS History, Kansas State University. Dan Darling is Forecast International’s director of military and defense markets. In this role, Dan oversees a team of analysts tasked with covering everything from budgeting to weapons systems to defense electronics and military aerospace. Additionally, for over 17 years Dan has, at various times, authored the International Military Markets reports for Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. Dan's work has been cited in Defense News, Real Clear Defense, Asian Military Review, Al Jazeera, and Financial Express, among others, and he has also contributed commentary to The Diplomat, The National Interest and World Politics Review. He has been quoted in Arabian Business, the Financial Times, Flight International, The New York Times, Bloomberg and National Defense Magazine. In addition, Dan has made guest appearances on the online radio show Midrats and on The Media Line, as well as The Red Line Podcast, plus media appearances on France 24 and World Is One News (WION).

Education: BA, English and History, Western Connecticut State University. A military history enthusiast, Richard began at Forecast International as editor of the World Weapons Weekly newsletter. As the Internet grew in importance as a research tool, he helped design the company's Forecast Intelligence Center and currently coordinates the EMarket Alert newsletters for clients. Richard also manages social media efforts, including two new blogs: Defense & Security Monitor, covering defense systems and international issues, and Flight Plan, which focuses on commercial aviation and space systems. For over 30 years, Richard has authored the Defense & Aerospace Companies, Volume I (North America) and Volume II (International) services. The two books provide detailed data on major aerospace and defense contractors. He also edits the International Contractors service, a database that tracks all the contractors involved in the programs covered in the FI library. More recently he was appointed Manager, Information Services Group (ISG), a new unit that encompasses developing outbound content for both Forecast International and Military Periscope.

Derek Bisaccio has had a lifelong interest in politics and all things military. Currently, Derek is the editor of Forecast International's International Military Markets – Middle East & Africa and International Military Markets – Eurasia Market Intelligence products. He was previously a research assistant, with a particular focus on Forecast International's Military Vehicles Forecast. Derek is an avid blogger and regularly contributes to Forecast International's Defense and Security Monitor. During his college years, Derek was a district intern for a U.S. senator and a U.S. representative. His concentration at Roger Williams was on international relations, with a focus on political structures in the Middle East and Europe.

Jon Hemler

Education: MA, Government, Johns Hopkins University; BS, Political Science, U.S. Naval Academy A former naval officer and helicopter pilot, Jon leads the Military Aerospace and Weapons Systems group at Forecast International and covers current and future military fixed and rotary-wing platforms. Drawing on his 10-year background in military aviation, operations, and education, he also forecasts uncrewed naval systems products. His previous military assignments include deployments supporting operations in the Arabian Gulf, NATO exercises, and humanitarian missions. Jon's work is also influenced by his time as a former Presidential Management Fellow and International Trade Specialist at the Department of Commerce. Before joining Forecast International, Jon also served as an NROTC instructor and Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, where he taught undergraduate courses on naval history, navigation, defense organization, and naval operations and warfare.

Education: BA, History, The Citadel; MA, History of Warfare, King's College London. Carter Palmer has long held a keen interest in military matters and aviation. As an analyst for Industrial & Marine Turbine Forecast, Carter specializes in examining key gas turbine programs for electrical power generation, mechanical drive, and marine propulsion applications. He is also responsible for updating the reports and analyses within the Space Systems Forecast – Launch Vehicles & Manned Platforms and Space Systems Forecast – Satellites & Spacecraft products. Following his graduation from The Citadel, Carter was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study Bavarian history in Munich, Germany. In his travels, Carter was also an English teacher and taught in both Munich and Saint Petersburg, Russia. Carter has taught both private students and employees of companies such as MAN, Volvo and Munich RE. Carter went on to earn his MA at King's College London and interned at the Royal United Services Institute in the NSR (National Security and Resilience) department. In his capacity as Senior Analyst at FI, Carter has attended trade shows and conferences in both the United States and Europe. Carter speaks English and German and has a high level of competence in Norwegian and other Scandinavian languages.

Education: BA Communications, Bowling Green State University, Ohio. Andrew Dardine is lead analyst for Forecast International's Defense Electronic Systems group. He is the primary author of Forecast International's Electronic Warfare Forecast and co-author of Electro-Optical Systems Forecast and C4I Forecast. Andrew is also a regular contributor to FI's Defense & Security Monitor blog, offering insights into developing technologies such as directed-energy and next-generation jamming systems. His analysis of such vital market areas as EO/IR systems and electronic countermeasures technology has been cited in Defense News, Aerospace Daily, and Bloomberg Businessweek, among other news media. He has also written about the electronic defense market for Aviation Week and the Journal of Electronic Defense.

Raymond has represented Forecast International at numerous conferences and trade shows, often as a featured speaker. He is a member of the American Helicopter Society. Prior to joining Forecast International, he worked at Industry News Service and, earlier, interned at the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Intelligence and Research.

Education: BA Political Science, University of Notre Dame. Shaun's deep-rooted interest in military equipment continues in his role as a senior defense analyst with a focus on the United States. He played an integral role in the development of Forecast International's U.S. Defense Budget Forecast, an interactive online product that tracks Pentagon acquisition programs throughout the congressional budget process. As editor of International Military Markets – North America, Shaun has cultivated a deep understanding of the vast defense markets in the United States and Canada. He is a regular contributor to Forecast International's Defense & Security Monitor blog and has co-authored white papers on global defense spending and various military programs. Shaun began his tenure at Forecast International as a research assistant, where he was responsible for updating and creating new reports in the Space Systems Forecast, Airborne Retrofit & Modernization Forecast, and Rotorcraft Forecast products. For several years, he was also responsible for the Africa component of the International Military Markets – Middle East & Africa product.

For more than 30 years, Richard has performed numerous roles as a top analyst for Forecast International. Currently, Richard is the Group Leader and Lead Analyst for Forecast International's Traditional Defense Systems, which covers all aspects of naval warfare, military vehicles, ordnance and munitions, missiles, and unmanned vehicles. Having previously been Forecast International's Electronics Group Leader for 20-plus years, Richard established Electro-Optical Systems Forecast, as well as having been the prime editor of Electronic Systems Forecast, Land & Sea-Based Electronics Forecast, and C4I Forecast. Additionally, Richard has served as the Naval Systems Group Leader responsible for Anti-Submarine Warfare Forecast andWarships Forecast. Prior to joining Forecast International, Richard worked as a journalist and as an educator at the secondary education and university levels.

He has contributed to the Airborne Electronics Forecast and was chief editor on the World Aerospace Weekly newsletter. Larry was directly responsible for the creation of World Weapons Review, a biweekly industry market research publication specializing in weapon systems and related material. He was the creator of Unmanned Vehicles Forecast, launched to cover the growing market for civil and military drones, and was involved in the development of the Airborne Retrofit & Modernization Forecast service. Larry is currently responsible for the Missile Forecast and for FI's two Unmanned Vehicles Forecast services – Airborne Systems and Land & Sea Systems. Larry has in addition authored numerous studies on defense-related products. As a contributor to Aviation Week & Space Technology's Aerospace Source Book, he has authored Missile and UAV Outlooks, and provided input for the publication's Missile and UAV Specifications tables. He has also authored numerous freelance articles for U.S. and overseas aerospace/defense magazines and trade journals. Larry has represented Forecast International at international trade shows, symposiums and seminars, including the Farnborough Air Show, the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) conferences and convention, and the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Conference and Exposition.

Earlier in his career at Forecast, Thomas developed an extensive knowledge base by contributing to a diverse array of FI market intelligence products, including Military Vehicles Forecast, Civil Aircraft Forecast, Military Aircraft Forecast, and Rotorcraft Forecast. Prior to joining the Forecast team, Thomas studied at Saint Petersburg State University in the Russian Federation and earned a graduate degree in International Studies at American University, where he researched bureaucratic professionalism in the governments of Belarus and Kazakhstan.

A researcher by trade and a long-time military studies enthusiast, David specializes in analyzing military markets and combat systems research. With six years of military service and over seven years of research experience, David has devoted his professional career to studying the defense industry. Understanding how militaries operate, what tools they use, and how they use them is what inspires him. David works with clients to answer important industry questions and find pragmatic solutions to complex issues.

Before joining Forecast International, David spent six years in the United States Marine Corps where he specialized in infantry tactics and training. Following his military service, he spent seven years researching, writing, and analyzing content in the defense field. His previous roles include Global Conflict Data Analyst at Intelligence Fusion, Geopolitical Risk Analyst at Global Risk Intelligence, and Senior Industry Analyst at Government Business Council.

As a contributor to Aviation Week & Space Technology's 2005 and 2006 Aerospace Source Book, he provided input for the publication's Unpowered, Precision-Guided Weapons Specifications table. Prior to joining Forecast International, Dean served as an intelligence analyst in the U.S. Army for 10 years. As an Order of Battle and weapons specialist, he served in a variety of assignments, ranging from running the intelligence section of an Apache attack helicopter squadron in combat to representing a theater-level intelligence organization in a national-level interagency intelligence working group. His intelligence assignments have included duty in Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey and Iraq, as well as Fort Hood, Texas, and Norfolk, Virginia.

As such, he plays a key role in many important projects that involve market sizing and forecasting for various segments of the world aerospace industry, as well as demand for related systems. Previous to his present assignments, Doug served as the primary analyst responsible for a major modernization and updating of the company's extensive Worldwide Military Aircraft Inventories database, which is considered by many industry participants to be the best source of its kind available today. Nicholas is responsible for updating the Middle East reports and analysis within Forecast International's International Military Markets – Middle East & Africa product. Prior to working at Forecast International, Nicholas served in the United States Army as a Human Intelligence Collector and dedicated his expertise to protecting the United States and its allies against threats of both unconventional and conventional warfare. Nicholas also served as an intelligence liaison officer and coordinated intelligence efforts with host nations throughout his service.
