The state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) designs, manufactures, and assembles aircraft, jet engines, and helicopters, as well as their components and spares. HAL is the
dominant aerospace contractor in India, as well as one of Asia's largest aerospace companies.
