CHINA WINS LARGEST FOREIGN ORDER YET FOR UAV

BEIJING - China has received its largest order yet for its unmanned air vehicles (UAVs). The buyer is undisclosed. Beijing is working to increase arms export volumes and stepping up research into military UAVs.

The order is for the Wing Loong II UAV. This system recently completed its maiden flight. The number of air vehicles involved or the value of this order is not available. Foreign buyers for Chinese-made UAVs include Nigeria, Pakistan and Egypt.

The Wing Loong II has a 20+ meter wingspan and is able to perform reconnaissance and strike missions.
