AIRASIA SIGNS FUEL AND CARBON SOLUTIONS AGREEMENT WITH GE

Thursday, July 19, 2012
EVENDALE, Ohio - AirAsia has signed a Fuel and Carbon Solutions agreement with GE Aviation. As part of this agreement, GE will use proprietary decision software and fuel-consulting expertise to help AirAsia identify and track operational improvements that could reduce the airline's fuel usage and emission.

Fuel typically accounts for about 30 percent of an airline's expenses. The volatility in fuel prices has prompted airlines to look for ways to manage this major portion of their cost base more effectively. Fuel and Carbon Solutions provides a way for GE to work with its customers and develop effective fuel-management solutions.
