COPENHAGEN - The Danish company Terma A/S has signed a number of contracts with Boeing for work on the U.S. company's commercial and defense products. The new contracts are valued at more than $15 million.

Terma will manufacture composite parts for the Boeing 777 commercial jetliner. The company will supply chords, shear ties, and filler for empennage ribs for the 777. Qualification for work on the 777 program will provide Terma with opportunities to bid on future work for other Boeing airplane programs, including the new 777X. Boeing plans to transition from production of the 777 to the 777X at the end of the decade.

Boeing also awarded Terma additional orders for the Electronic Warfare Management System (EWMS) for the Boeing Chinook military helicopters. The Terma EWMS for the Chinook features dual cockpit displays and integrates multiple warning and countermeasure systems.

Terma has also received additional orders from Boeing for Harpoon missile simulators. The simulator supports testing and training with Harpoon Command and Launch Systems based on land, ships, and submarines.

"Terma's experience within composites structures technology provides promising opportunities for collaboration and for introduction of Terma into the Boeing supply chain," said Jens Maaloe, Terma President and CEO. "The 777 contract is strategically important to Terma in our effort to establishing the company as a supplier in the commercial aircraft segment."
