U.S. ARMY TO INVEST $230 MILLION ON SIGNALS INTELLIGENCE PROGRAM
NEWTOWN, Conn. - The next several years should see steady procurement by the U.S. Army of the PROPHET Enhanced tactical signals intelligence system, driven by the demand for vehicle and soldier protection. The Army recently scrapped a Spiral 1 ES system in favor of a system simply known as PROPHET Enhanced.
PROPHET Enhanced has an open architecture, which will allow the Army to update the system much faster and more efficiently than possible with older versions of PROPHET. The systems will be integrated onto Medium Mine-Protected Vehicles (MMPVs), HMMWVs, and other tactical vehicles.
The FY15 defense budget includes $230 million in procurement funding for the PROPHET program through FY19.
A report on the PROPHET program is available from Forecast International.
