U.S. NAVY WILL SEND TRITON UAV TO GUAM
GUAM - The U.S. Navy plans to send its new MQ-4C Triton unmanned air vehicle (UAV) to Guam when it's available. The air vehicle is based on the RQ-4 Global Hawk UAV designed by Northrop Grumman.
The Triton UAV will deploy to Andersen Air Force Base on Guam. This deployment could occur in 2017.
The Triton will support a wide range of intelligence-gathering and reconnaissance missions, maritime patrols and search and rescue. The first MQ-4C Triton completed a flight from California to Maryland in September 2014.
