COLUMBUS, Ohio - The California-based antenna manufacturer, Sensor Systems has received an order from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, Land and Maritime Active Devices Division in support of the Boeing E-3 AWACS early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft's S65-1024 UHF antenna. The award specifies the delivery of seven units at a total price of $32,999.

The antenna itself is a receive-only model that functions in the 225 - 400 MHz UHF range with an impedance of 50 ohms in a vertically polarized, omnidirectional orientation. Its platform, the U.S. Air Force's E-3 AWACS is a strategically important aircraft that provides all-altitude air surveillance, threat warning, and control of theater air forces. Rolling O&M contracts sustain the United States' AWACS fleet; this contract is part of the ongoing effort to maintain the full strength viability of the fleet.
