NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Lockheed Martin has won a production contract for Lot 17 and Lot 18 of the Joint Air-to-Surface Stand-off Missile - Extended Range (JASSM-ER) version. This award is worth $818,210,722.
Under this contract, Lockheed Martin will build 360 Lot 17 JASSM-ERs for the U.S. Air Force and another 40 to meet Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requests. Lot 18 will involve the manufacture of 390 missiles.
The JASSM is a long-range strike missile designed to engage high-value, well-defended targets, both fixed and relocatable. This version is integrated with the U.S. Air Force's B-1B, B-2 and B-52 bombers, and its F-16 and F-15E fighters.
The JASSM-ER can be carried by B-1B bombers and F-15E fighters. The Air Force is working on integrating the JASSM-ER on the B-52H bomber, and F-35 Lightning II and F-16C/D combat aircraft.
Work on this current production contract will be completed by October 31, 2024.
