U.S. NAVY, MARINES COMPLETE BLACKJACK UAV FIELDING

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps have completed fielding of the RQ-21A Blackjack unmanned aerial system (UAS). The program achieved a full operational capability in 2019.

The U.S. acquired 21 systems for the Marine Corps and 10 for the Navy. These figures include systems for use by training units. The Blackjack equips four Marine UAV squadrons plus a fleet replacement detachment.

The Blackjack is built by Boeing's Insitu. A single Blackjack system includes five UAVs, two ground control stations, various payloads and a set of launch and recovery systems.

The Blackjack also has won orders from Canada and Poland.
