RAYTHEON AWARDED $16.8M TO REPAIR DDG-79 USS OSCAR AUSTIN SPY-1D RADAR TRANSMITTER
WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Navy has awarded Raytheon, Integrated Defense Systems of Marlborough, Mass., a $16.8-million cost-plus-fixed-fee, undefinitized contract action (N00024-19-F-5121) under a previously-awarded basic ordering agreement (N00024-17-G-5103) to repair and test USS Oscar Austin (DDG-79) SPY-1D transmitter suite. The order covers repair, refurbishment, reassembly, and testing of the Aegis Weapon System SPY-1D transmitter group, as well as associated testing support. In accordance with 10 U.S. Code 2304(c)(1), this order was not competitively procured (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements).
The contracted work will be performed in Chesapeake, Va. (65 percent), Andover, Mass. (15 percent), Marlborough, Mass. (10 percent), and Burlington, Mass. (10 percent), and is expected to be completed by March 2021.
The U.S. Navy has obligated $7.6 million in Fiscal Year 2019 Operations and Maintenance funding at the time of the award, which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command at Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
