TEL AVIV -- Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has developed a new strike missile based on an aerial target drone. The Rocks is an air-launched ballistic missile. This missile first appeared at the Aero India 2019 aerospace and defense exposition.

Rafael has not yet disclosed the range of Rocks or the guidance system used. The missile's body is derivbed from Rafael's Black Sparrow aerial target system. This drone can simulate the characteristics of a short-range ballistic missile.

IMI Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) unveiled the Rampage air-launched ballistic missile in 2018.
