BEIJING -- China has mobilized its DF-26 anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) after a US warship trespassed into China's territorial waters off the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea. The DF-26 is deployed in Northwest China's plateau and desert areas.

China says these missiles are capable of mobile operations across the country and are deployed beyond the reach of hostile naval weapons.

The DF-26 can hit targets 4,500 kilometers away.
