MARIGNANE, France -- The first serial Airbus Helicopters H160 made its first flight on December 14. The helicopter then performed a flight demonstration on December 17 in front of Airbus Helicopters' H160 team. The helicopter is to be delivered to launch customer Babcock in 2020.

This first serial H160 is to join the three H160 prototypes in the final steps of the flight test campaign. The prototypes have already accumulated more than 1,000 flight hours.

The last stages of flight testing are geared toward confirming that modifications introduced into the serial configuration have no impact on the H160's handling qualities.
