RENTON, Wash. -- Boeing Commercial Airplanes recorded orders for 18 aircraft in the month of October. Vistara ordered six 787-9s. Aviation Capital Group ordered three 737 MAXs. Turkmenistan Airlines ordered three 737 MAXs. Boeing Capital Corp ordered one 787-9. A business jet/VIP customer ordered one 737 MAX. Other unidentified customers ordered three 737 MAXs and one 777-200LR.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes delivered a total of 57 aircraft during October. This total includes 22 737 MAXs, 17 737-800s, one 737-800A, three 737-900ERs, one 767-300F, one 777F, one 787-8, nine 787-9s, and two 787-10s.
In the first 10 months of 2018, Boeing garnered 741 orders. The company delivered 625 aircraft.
As of October 31, 2018, the order backlog for Boeing Commercial Airplanes totaled 5,881. Unfilled orders broken down by aircraft type were as follows: 4,671 for the 737, 21 for the 747, 122 for the 767, 418 for the 777, and 649 for the 787.
The backlog at the end of October 2018 represents a decrease compared to the backlog at the end of the previous month (September), which had totaled 5,932. Both figures are increases compared to the company's yearend-2017 order backlog of 5,864.
