BEIJING -- China has developed an unmanned surface vessel (USV). Recently, Beijing launched a missile from this USV. The Liaowangzhe-2 USV is on display at the 12th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai.

The Liaowangzhe-2 USV is 7.5 meters long and 2.7 meters wide. The USV can reach a speed of 22 knots. Liaowangzhe-2 can perform reconnaissance and strike missions.

Zhuhai-based shipping developer Oceanalpha, Xi'an Institute of Modern Control Technology and Huazhong Institute of Electro-Optics jointly developed this USV.
