NEW DELHI -- India's state-run Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has conducted a test of the Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM). This test took place at a facility off Odisha coast.
The missile has a range of 15 kilometers and will supplement the Akash medium-range SAM capable of engaging targets out to a distance of 30 kilometers. The QRSAM can defend against low flying threats.
The missile has no formal name and is a new development project at DRDO. The missile will undergo several rounds of experimental trials before being inducted in the Indian Armed Forces.
