ANKARA -- In May 2018, Corendon Airlines added a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to its fleet as first in Turkey and positioned itself in the middle of attention in the civil aviation industry. Corendon Airlines has now signed a new agreement for the delivery of three more aircraft of this quiet and environment friendly model. Two aircraft, to be produced in the Boeing factory in Seattle, will be delivered in 2019 and the third aircraft will follow in 2020.

As first in Turkey, Corendon Airlines recently added a new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to its fleet and has now signed a new contract for delivery of another three aircraft of this model.

Yildiray Karaer, Corendon Airlines CEO and co-founder, reminded that the first commercial flight of the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft was made on May 19 from Antalya to Eindhoven and he gave some information about the new agreement. Karaer remarked that Corendon Airlines will continue to expand and rejuvenate its fleet and to add more aircraft of the MAX 8 series to their fleet in line with efficiency and environment strategy.

"We are pleased that we were able to expand our fleet with a 737 MAX 8 aircraft, equipped by Boeing in a very special way," Karaer said. "Due to the fact that Boeing has succeeded to achieve economic fuel consumption, the operational efficiency of airlines has increased considerably. At the same time the quiet engine and the spacious cabin design will result in better flight experience and higher satisfaction of passengers. Two of the new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will be delivered in May and June 2019 and the third one will join our fleet in May 2020 and our passengers will experience even more ease and flight comfort." The aircraft’s power comes from CFM International LEAP-1B engines that specially produced for the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The new model contributes to reduce carbon emission by fuel-saving of 15%. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 has an operating range of 3.550 miles (6.570 km) and on average it can fly further than the Boeing 737 Next Generation series. The Boeing 737 MAX series features a new aerodynamic design and compared to competitors, it is eco-friendlier and quieter by 40% when compared to today’s single-aisle aircrafts.
