BOTHELL, Wash. -- Zunum Aero has announced that JetSuite, a leading private aviation company, will be the launch customer for the company's 6 to 12 passenger hybrid-to-electric aircraft. JetSuite plans to add up to 100 of the electrics to their fleet in the early 2020s, enabling them to bring quiet, efficient and environmentally friendly travel services to their private and semi-private customers nationwide.

"We are thrilled by this partnership, given our shared vision of disrupting the status quo in aviation," said Zunum Aero co-founder and aircraft CTO Matt Knapp. "JetSuite offers fast semi-private flights at commercial fares via JetSuiteX, which operates out of private terminals, allowing travelers to bypass large hubs which make short-haul travel far from efficient today, with traffic, baggage claims and security lines."

Zunum Aero remains on track for flight testing in 2019.

"We have experienced a groundswell of interest in our aircraft, across the aviation sector and around the world, ranging from regional carriers and business aviation to corporate fleets and cargo operators," said Knapp. "We've been engaging with the government of Norway over the past year, and applaud their leadership in targeting 100% all-electric short-haul by 2040. Legislative support for similar goals is taking shape in several other countries. "
