DUBAI - Embraer is enhancing the flight experience aboard its Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 business jets by reducing the two aircraft's maximum cabin altitude to 1,768 meters (5,800 feet).
Currently, the maximum cabin altitude of the Legacy 450 and 500 is 1,828 meters (6,000 feet) when flying at 13,716 meters (45,000 feet). Embraer has now increased cabin pressurization differential from 9.3 psi to 9.73 psi in order to reduce the maximum cabin altitude to 5,800 feet. The two aircraft's environmental control system also preserves a sea-level cabin altitude while flying under 8,245 meters (27,050 feet).
Deliveries of Legacy 450s and 500s with the new cabin altitude enhancement are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2018, when the upgrade will also become available to the installed fleet.
Launched in 2008, the Legacy 500 and Legacy 450 entered service in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
