HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. - The U.S. Air Force has awarded Boeing of Oklahoma City, Okla., has a $240.2 million fixed-price-incentive-firm contract (FA8730-18-C-0003) for Phase 1 modernization of Royal Saudi Air Force Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS). This contract provides for AWACS mission computing, navigation and communications upgrades, as well as the next generation in identification, friend or foe enhancement designs. This contract involves foreign military sales to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is the result of a sole-source acquisition.

The contract work will be performed in Oklahoma City, Okla., and is expected to be completed by February 28, 2019.

The Saudi Arabian letter of offer and the full $240.2 million in acceptance case funds are being obligated at the time of the award. The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is the contracting activity.
